Global Health – a common research focus

The National University of Singapore and the Berlin University Alliance are seeking to strengthen their collaboration in the excellent and innovative research of specific key topics, consolidate the dialogue at governance level and establish sustainable joint programmes to promote young researchers and entrepreneurs. Following an initial open-topic call for proposals in 2019, another step was taken toward further strengthening the profile of the collaboration by focusing the joint research efforts on the field of global health by funding five joint projects beginning in 2021.

Since 2023, the project "Ageing Well in the Urban Environment - Meeting the Health and Social Needs of Older Adults" has been funded for three years. The lighthouse project is being carried out between the National University Singapore, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Charité Universitätsmedizin and aims to strengthen international cooperation between the two excellent research locations of Berlin and Singapore.
